International quality accreditation: HCMC Hospital of Dermato-Venereology has been accredited under the EQuIP7 Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program of ACHS International (Australia).
1. Adverse Events and Complications Following Aesthetic Procedures
Complications Following Nonsurgical Aesthetic Procedures
-
Dermal filler injections: Persistent swelling and pain, lumps or nodules, infection, abscess formation, vascular occlusion, or skin necrosis.
-
Botulinum toxin injections: Eyelid ptosis, brow ptosis, facial asymmetry, or reduced facial expression.
-
Lasers and energy-based devices: Burns, persistent skin redness (erythema), pigmentation changes, or scarring.
-
Other procedures: Complications following chemical peels, microneedling, mesotherapy, thread lifts, or fat-dissolving injections, including inflammation, allergic reactions, infection, ulceration, and scarring.
Complications Following Cosmetic Surgery
Complications may occur after rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, and other aesthetic plastic surgery procedures, including:
-
Infection, bleeding, hematoma, or seroma.
-
Delayed wound healing, wound dehiscence, or abnormal scarring.
-
Asymmetry, deformity, or functional impairment in the operated area.
-
Complications associated with surgical materials or implants.
The decision to accept a patient for treatment and the choice of management approach depend on an individual clinical assessment. Some patients may require multidisciplinary care or referral to an appropriate healthcare facility.

2. Management Approaches and Clinical Expertise
-
Assessment and treatment planning: Physicians examine patients, assess the extent and severity of the injury, and determine an appropriate management approach for each complication.
-
Management options: Depending on the clinical findings, patients may require laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, medical treatment, specialist procedures, or coordinated care involving other specialties.

3. Important Information for Patients
-
Information to prepare: Please provide details of the procedure or surgery performed, including when and where it was carried out, if known; the product name, ingredients, manufacturer, and batch number, if available; details of any surgical materials or implants; and relevant medical records, test results, photographs of the affected area, and before-and-after photographs, if available.
-
Medical information: Please provide a list of your current medications, any known allergies, and underlying medical conditions.
-
Emergency warning: Seek emergency medical care immediately if you experience severe pain, unusual skin discoloration after a filler injection, rapidly worsening tissue injury, or changes in vision following an aesthetic procedure.
